Going Home

It makes me sad to write this knowing how many people have been pulling and praying for me but I have decided to stop the thru hike. This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, it has taken a lot of thought and prayer. I have been truly blessed to have the opportunity to thru hike and to have all of you as a support team. Taking all that to heart, there are a few reasons for me making this decision. The first was due to life on the trail being so lonely. I was prepaid for the physical part on the trip but not mental strain of being alone. I know better understand and value the relationships that I have. Not having anyone to pass the time with took the enjoyment out of the hike (the second and maine reason) and made it more like work that the vacation to a life time. I believe that I have made the right choice and I look forward to where ever God takes me in Dahlonega or where ever I am living. In the end I know this will all work out of the best. It will definitely let me help out with my family as that prepare to move to Texas.

Thank you all for your support and I hope I have not let you down. I do hope to talk to you and see you soon. If I can ever do anything to support you as you have me, please let me know.

Well today was an easier day. Not to to rocky and less miles. I started the 15 miles at 6:30am and was done by 12:30pm. I have meet up with my Family. I am going to spend the night with them and will be on the trail tomorrow morning. I hope to be on the 9am ferry a crossed the Kennebec river.

Day 8 (23 miles)

Had all you can eat French Toast this morning, then started the hike. The trail was great, made amazing time and there was not many rocks. I was averaging 3.5 miles per hour. Climbed one mountain (Moxie Bald) and got some great pics on the top. I am sleeping in an really nice shelter on the south side on Moxie Bald. It was a great day and good times. Looking forded to seeing the family tomorrow. The hike is getting better.

I now have a trail name

Due to the thumb story my new trail name is STICHES. LOL that is my luck.

Romans 5:3&4

Take a look at this verse:

Romans 5:3&4.
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know the suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character hope. (NIV)

I love this verse because it is a reminder there when suffering happens We can find true hope is Christ. This REALY speaks to me in my life right now. The trail is testing and very very hard but I know that my GOD will get my though it. Even when it feel like all hope is gone. The is still time for rejoicing.

I am heading out of town tomorrow so this will be the last update for the next few days. Till then I hope every has a great week!!!

114.5 miles down & 2,066.5 miles to go

We just in cast any one wanted to know I am 5.2% done, and only 94.8% to go. Not to bad for six days on walking.
